Terms of use

GunnarFit is a workout and food log run by one independent developer. By creating an account or using the app you agree to these terms. They're written in plain words: the short version is be kind, post only what you'd be fine with a friend seeing, and treat the numbers as helpful estimates, not a doctor's advice. How your data is handled is in the privacy policy.

Not medical advice

• Calories and macros are estimates. They come from food databases (USDA FoodData Central and Open Food Facts), your own saved foods, or an AI guess (marked "est.") when a food isn't found. Portions are read from what you type or say, so they can be off, sometimes by a lot. Labels and real portions vary too.
• Estimated 1RM is a formula, not a test. The app estimates the most you could lift once from your best set using the Epley formula (weight × (1 + reps ÷ 30)), counting at most 12 reps. For example, 200 × 5 reps comes out at about 233. Real maxes depend on form, rest, sleep and experience. Don't try a 1RM because the app shows a number; lift within what feels safe, and use a spotter.
• Other numbers are estimates as well: goal progress, weekly recaps, streaks, steps and sleep you import, and anything the AI fills in from your log. Check the entry if something looks wrong; you can edit any of it.
• Goals are yours to set. The app warns about very low calorie goals, but it can't know what is right for your body. If you feel unwell, stop and get medical help. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.

Your account

• You must be 13 or older to use GunnarFit.
• One person per account. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what is done with your account.
• Don't try to break, overload or get around the app's limits, use bots or scripts to sign up or log, or get at anyone else's data.

Rules for photos and videos

These apply to progress photos, photos and videos attached to entries, and pictures sent in chats. Progress photos and attachments are private unless you share them.

• Only photos you have the right to share

  Post your own photos, or ones you have permission to use. Don't post someone else's picture, or a photo of another person, without their OK.

• No nudity or sexual content

  Progress photos in workout clothes or swimwear are fine. Fully nude photos, sexual content and anything sexual involving a minor are not. Sexual content involving a minor is reported to the authorities.

• No violence, gore or self-harm

  No graphic injury, violence, or content that encourages self-harm or eating disorders (for example pro-starvation or purging images).

• Nothing illegal

  No photos of illegal activity, illegal drugs or steroids for sale, or anything that breaks the law where you or the viewer are.

Rules for chats and shares

These apply to chat messages, group chat names, display names, and anything you share with friends.

• Be kind

  No harassment, bullying, threats, hate speech, or body shaming. Encouragement is welcome; mocking someone's body, weight or food is not.

• No spam or selling

  Don't send ads, scams, chain messages, links to sell things, or the same message over and over.

• Keep private things private

  Don't post someone else's personal details (address, phone number, private photos) or screenshots of a private chat to shame them.

• No dangerous advice

  Don't push extreme diets, very low calorie targets, drugs, or training that could hurt someone. Share what works for you, and leave medical advice to professionals.

• Don't pretend to be someone else

  Use a display name that doesn't impersonate another person or GunnarFit.

Reports, removal and suspension

• If someone breaks these rules, use Report on the message or share, or Block them so they can't reach you. Reports are private: the person isn't told who reported them.
• The app's owner reviews reports and may remove a message, photo or share, and may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, without warning for serious cases (for example threats or sexual content involving a minor).
• Illegal content may be passed to the police or other authorities when the law requires it.
• If you think a removal or suspension was a mistake, contact us (see below).

Your content

What you log and post stays yours. You give GunnarFit permission to store it, process it to run the app (for example sending a log to the AI to read it, as the privacy policy explains), and show it to the people you choose to share it with. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account (which also deletes the chat messages you sent), except for copies in backups, which are gone within 30 days. Something a friend already saw or saved, like a recipe they copied, stays with them.

Coins, pets and the shop

Coins are earned by logging and can only be spent in the app on themes and pet items. They have no money value, can't be bought, sold or transferred, and may be changed or reset if they were earned by cheating or a bug.

The service

• GunnarFit is free and provided "as is". Features may change, be added or be removed, and the app may sometimes be down. Export your data any time from the gear menu if you want your own copy.
• The AI that reads your logs can misunderstand you. Check what it saved. You are responsible for decisions you make based on what the app shows.
• As far as the law allows, GunnarFit and its owner aren't liable for injury, health problems, lost data or other harm from using the app or relying on its numbers. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the law where you live.

Leaving GunnarFit

You can stop using GunnarFit and delete your account at any time in Settings > Account > Delete my account. GunnarFit can close an account that breaks these terms.

Changes and contact

If these terms change, we'll update the date at the top, and tell you in the app for any important change. Using the app after a change means you accept the new terms. For questions, use privacy@gunnarfit.com.
